Located on the historic Horseshoe Piazza, this beautiful hospitality space overlooks our iconic horseshoe court and front lawn courts. The 1881 Club was named in honor of the landmark moment in tennis history when, on August 31, 1881, the very first United States National Lawn Tennis Championship was held on these very grounds. Just one year after the Newport Casino first opened its doors (1880), it became the birthplace of what we now know as the US Open.
